I earned my Bachelors Degree in Education in 2000 from Jacksonville State University.

I am in my fifteen year of teaching.

In May, my husband, Buddy, and I celebrated our 33rd anniversary.  We have been blessed with 3 children.  Our firstborn, Dustin, 31, works at Color Masters here in Albertville.   Our middle child, Austin, 26, is a fourth grade teacher in our system. Our third child, Erin, 20, is pursuing aa degree in nursing school.  Dustin's wife, Rachel, Is a fifth grade teacher in our system.  Austin's wife, Maura currently works for MUB and Is also pursing her degree in education.  AND, the thing that makes everything complete is our three grand daughters!!   As you can tell, family is very important to me.  I've always told my children to do what they enjoy and to enjoy what they do.  With that being said, we have three teachers in our family with one more on the horizon.

My husband and I also own and operate Alder Springs Grocery.  We purchased our business in August of 1986.  I often tell people that owning and operating our store was my first education.

I had the opportunity to have our children before I completed my education.  In 1996, opportunity for me to return to school and pursue my education became available.  At that time, the ages our children were 10, 6, and 1.  I graduated in December 2000 from JSU.  Upon graduation, I did numerous leaves of absence for teachers in our school system.  In 2002, I was hired by our system.  I've taught first grade since that date.  I truly enjoy all the rewards that come with first grade.
